Much to my dismay when I arrived home from work today my 13yr old showed me how the battery overheated and burnt a hole straight through the bottom of her notebook. I called HP and the aren't going to do anything. I've just read that there was a battery recall a couple years ago (probably for this reason) anyone have any ideas how to get them to replace it??? thanks

If you are out of warranty they probably wont give you much priority. I suggest you call and talk to a case manager as this is a serious matter.
I dont remember a recall for HP batteries but i suggest you check the recall list. -
checked recall list an its on there they don't seem to care that my daughter no longer has a notebook like i said lucky she wasn't using it or would have burnt her leg

Sounds like you are the victim of a Sony defective lithium ion battery. I am happy to hear that your daughter didn't get burned and your house didn't burn down, so at least be glad for that. I would also say to contact someone like a case manager from HP as I can say that this is a serious matter (as flipfire stated earlier).
