The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    HP online: 4 accounts for each user?

    Please add or correct this:

    As I have experienced it, HP requires customers to have 4 completely separate HP accounts, each with a separate user name & password.

    Shopping: when you create a shopping cart, you create an account with a user name and password.

    Registration: when you register your HP products just so that you can keep track of what you have and HP can let you know what there are updates for, you create an account with a user name and password.

    Forums: if you want to post on the forums, you create another HP account with a user name and password.

    IT Resource Site: For tech support, you have to create another HP account with a user name and password.

    Did I miss any? Are there more?

    The HP account structure actualy makes me <gasp> like Microsoft's Passport aka Live ID...
