Just bought a laptop at bestbuy this past black friday and it is the HP pavilion g4. It's specs are:

    Intel pentium 2.13ghz
    intel hm65 express chipset
    500gb HD
    4gb ram
    14" LED display
    weighs 4.7lbs
    windows 7 home premium

The whole package came out to $449 with tax included and had the geek squad optimization with 6 months of virus protection. I was wondering also what are the gaming capabilities on this machine? I know it wont be anything spectacular but I'm just curious.

Do you think I got a good deal here? My friends have been saying that I overpaid and there are better deals out there. What does everyone think?

for $450 and less you could have had any number of core i3 laptops, many with 17" screens from BB, Staples, etc, etc. BB had an Asus with a core i5 for that price as well.

Yes, you've likely overpaid. The GS 'optimizations' and 6 month virus protection are commonly viewed as less than worthless.
