    HP pavilion ze4610us power adapter issue....

    this is the 2nd time the power adapter port on the laptop is lose. its the port where you plug in the AC power adapter, the pin inside is lose. and you have to wiggle the cord to get it to charge. The first time it was under warranty but now its not. Has anyone fixed something like this? wonder how hard it is or better left to a pro. HP lists a power inverter circuit board for $24, i wonder if thats it? any ideas?

    I think you will have to solder this thing. If you feel you can do it...go for it.
    An alternative way would be to use your expansion port. Someone suggested it here a couple of weeks ago.

    i found a power jack on ebay for $8 which is a replacement for the HP. how much of a pain is it to access the power jack? i do have soldering skills which is not a concern, but how much dissassemblying of the laptop.

    any recommended place online to get it fixed at? HP gave me some service centers in my area but when called they all ship to HP so thats worthless.
