    Dear

    Can someone help me?

The mentioned laptop suddenly looses connection and no wirelless network is shown anmore, not even the neighbours wirelles SSID.

So it's not a problem with my router.

When I disable the networkadapter, and enable it back in device manager, the wirelles signal is back and works fine until the problem repeats itself.

I think this happens a 3 to 5 timesin one hour.

I read somewhere else on the internet that i's a known dv8 problem and after the harddisk was replaced, the problem was solved?(from HP forum).

It's on that forum that someone said to ask this forum , as they have a dv8 lounge ?

I did not update the drivers yet, but it's a new laptop. I want to be sure it's a hardware problem, so I can bring it back so HP can fix the problem themself (warranty)!!

What adapter wifi do you have in there right now? We needs some specs of the wifi and router to know what diagnosis to look for. It could be a corrupted driver wifi issues as well. But as anything for hardware problems we need more hardware specs and driver specs to be sure.

no we don't, it is a dv8. Every dv8 suffers that problem, it is a manufacturers horrifically bad design. Every single dv8 suffers from this problem, if you just bought it, go to hp and kick their but. I didn't even think it was possible to buy a new dv8 any more.

Well, actually it's one year old, but warranty is 2 years according to the shop the laptop was bought by my friend..

He also said that some evenings it works great but another evening the wireless gets itself disabled, even sometimes he has seen the wireless button(not real button but the blue light on the top of the keyboard with the symbol of wirelles) turns orange. I haven't notice this last thing. So maybe I thaught he touches this button without knowing it? But he was sure he didn't.

At this point(yesterday) I updated the drivers with the HP support tool. It found two drivers which has to do something with the wireless.

So lets see if I will hear something from him?

But If I understand you correct, ALL dv8 laptops has this problem, so this problem cannot be solved with driver update? hmmm.

I used a program which gave me following specifications of the router and laptop:

Here is the problem, the wireless antenna is basically floating free inside the case, not grounded in any meaningful way. Some people have had success opening the case and using electrical tape to make it stick to the tiny grounding plate, but taking the case apart is not easy, and frustrating unless you know what you are doing.

if you search there is a great website than can detail taking the dv8t apart, and the instructions for taking it apart are excellent, but there are zero instructions to put it back together, and some of the pieces are tiny and itty bitty cables that are a pain to deal with.

That was my first hunch...a driver problem before digging into the hardware problem which in itself can be a tricky trouble shooting thing to do. But I needed more info as to know what model/make so as to know we were on the same page to diagnosis what might be the problem before going into hardware fixes...

    Dear everyone.

It seems the driver did not solve the issue. I had no time to tell this.

You need more info about the laptop? here it is:
    HP pavillion dv8
    model: dv8-1250 eb
    product: xm626ea#uug

But it's possible that this laptop has the same problem (wifi adapter) as was mentioned in this thread?

Ok I tried looking on my side but my links doesn't show a listing for it because it says the items is of different country origin so I am unable to at this point in time to know what wifi will work.

I contact Hp support (phone) they were very helpful.

But they did NOT now the problem that was mentioned here. One even said that I always will find a problem with a laptop on the internet if I look for it. hihi.

But this is what they let me do: update firmware lauch buttons (they told me that this was a known problem that the wifi disables itself and that the cause was(wwere) the lunchbutton(s). and they also updated bios (but this was already the latest , but they still urged to do the bios update).

After a week they we'll call back. lets hope it's ok?

Maybe someone here can use this (possible) solution.
