The screen is has white upper corners
I have an year plus HP pavillion dv6000 series.

Maybe I didn't notice before or they appeared recently, but there is whiteness on the upper left and right corners of the screen. It isn't on the outside as it only shows up when the laptop is on.

Also, if i have a darker background like on movies that are on widescreen format [black bars above and below the movie], the whites becomes smaller like a small line on the corners.

Is it something to do with the screen losing its life or is it because of some internal dust? I have used windex to clean it but I wonder how can dust get to the back of the screen? It is primarily used a home desktop.

I'd be more worried about Windex damaging the screen coating. Use a proper microfiber cloth and (optionally) screen cleaner.

What screen coating? The screen does feel less smooth when i glide my finger across it but I used windex on a lenovo screen as well, but I didn't see much of a difference there?

Hmm... maybe now that HP is leaving off the antiglare film in favor of the eyestrain-inducing glossy look there isn't any coating to damage, but still, I'd feel a lot more comfortable using proper screen cleaner or plain water and a microfiber cloth.

Many HP laptops have glossy screens which makes them different from any other laptops. I also have a HP laptop :D , but I clean it with a soft cloth. I think Windex can harm screens. Never use it again!

From what I've been told only use cleaners with ammonia and do it with the laptop off and would probably be a good idea to pull the battery.
