    i wanna format my labtop from vista to windows xp.
    but when i put in the setup disk. when i choose setup, it will show, can;t detect ur hard drive. I still think it is same with dell labtop, we have to change the flash.. and ata for format windows vista to windows xp. any1 know how to solve it ? thx

    You'll need to slipstream and burn your own XP installation disk with with SATA driver integrated.

    To do this, you'll need a copy of nlite (free) and download the SATA driver from Intel's website. After that, just follow the instruction on the nlite program for driver integration.

    Yes, it applies to any laptop that uses a SATA hard drive, not just HP/Compaq :)

    actually i no so understand about this few sentence:

    8. Download and extract the drivers you wish to add to the installation from support.intel.com
    9. Choose Insert -> Single Driver, and browse to the extracted driver
    10. Select “Textmode driver”, select on the description in the box, and press OK

    what is the mean driver we wish to install?
