this is my first time posting here, but i have been a long time lurker. some of you guys convinced me to get my dv5t!

now to my problem! i ordered this config on 9/18 (with the 500 dollar off coupon) for 928.99 without tax:

i've noticed that the dv5t has become discounted and with the current 400 dollar off coupon i could get a better config for a bit cheaper than what i originally paid. could i take advantage of the price protection policy or no? i figured asking here would give me some feedback on others who have used HP's service before.

if not, it's cool, i'm really loving my new laptop and it's thanks to you guys!

I'm surprised, because I've seen the prices actually go up on the HP's now.
I believe the price protection policy is 21 days, so it couldn't hurt to try. ;)

    Call them up and ask.

Have your order number ready and be ready to tell them what adjustment you would like them to make. You may need the coupon code as well

I've done this for 3 different adjustments and each time walked away a satisfied customer

I ordered mine dv5t, than after a week I saw that for the SAME configuration I could use a new coupon that would save me 70$, so I called and they credited me for that 70$.
After another week there was the 500$ coupon, so I just returned the HP I bought (with 0 cost, they pay shipping) and ordered a new one with better configuration using the coupon.

My point is that they have a very good service so just call them...
