    Hi,

I have a new (<1mo) HP Pavilion dv6226us (excellent buy).

I don't know how full the recovery partition (7gb) was when
I bought it, but I just noticed there is only 384mb left.

There is a file called "preload" in the partition that has 5.6gb.
The RECOVERY folder is only 184kb. Is that normal?

Vista (or HP) won't let me see what's in the preload folder.

I've created the recovery dvds....just not sure if the partition
    is ok.

    Thanks for any feedback!
    Cal

It is fine. Mine is nearly full and was that way when I bought it.

That's a relief.....the red bar that Vista shows in Explorer was making me nervous!

Also, I'd asked a computer tech about it and he thought some hacker may have
been storing stuff on my partition.

    Thanks!
    Cal :D
