Before I was highly contemplating about getting a dv5t witha 9600M GT but now all I see are 9200M GS...and this goes across the board for all the Dv series laptops (as far as I can see)

Anyone know whats going on? This highly disturbs me since the 9200 GS is the ONLY option...even dell vostros have different GPUs. Sadly this GPU issue is the deal breaker on which brand of laptops I will chose from. :( So sad it wont be HP....at least not yet.

Another user noticed it was missing too. I believe they are out of stock again.

It is my belief that the dv5t with 9600M GT option is going EOL (End Of Life) to force buyers that want a better GPU to look at the HDX16 or HDX18 models.

But, if you don't mind the color they still offer the 9600m GT in with the Bronze Baseunit.

If you serious about getting a dvt5 with 9600m I would suggest picking one up sooner than later. I ordered my dv5t in Onyx with the 9600m last week and two days later the removed that option.

Same deal here - when the price dropped to 50 to upgrade to the 9600GT I jumped on the deal.

    Consider ourselves lucky huh ?

But if it needs to be sent to HP for repair, will they fix it? I think the motherboards are also going EoL and will therefore not be fixed.

Yes, they will fix it. They have to keep around "spare parts" to handle any warranty/repair work.

Don't fear that... but even if they did run out, years from now, it is my understanding that they would offer you a reasonable upgrade if of course it is still under warranty.
