Well, I have to give credit where credit is due. I sent my dead notebook in for repairs Saturday. It was completely dead after a bad BIOS flash. I received it back today -- that would be 4 days later -- along with a note saying they replaced the motherboard and the LCD bezel. There are some minor marks on the cover, likely from whatever surface it was upside down and resting on while being dismantled, but other than that it has returned to me intact and working well. They didn't even wipe my hard drive.

I know it's frustrating when you have a bad experience, but I thought I owed it to the individuals who handled my case to report a very positive experience.
