Hello,
Back in December of 2006 I bought HP's Dv2125nr: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...245594&lang=en I have had nothing but problems with it sence I got it and had to send it in 4 times, the last time taking 1 month before they found it again. (They had lost it). Today happens to be my birthday and I find it ironic that they would send me this E-Mail :Message Textear Sir / Madam,

1. Is this a misstake on HP's part?
2. If so, why did they do it.
3. should I keep the computer. (it's not dual core, but the dedicated video memory[I like games] and the larger L2 cache are appealing)
I really need help. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Also I realize that the HDD is signifitantly smaller, but I don't need a big HDD. I can always get one later if I'm wrong.

I have posted one other place but I think that this is more appropreate.
-
I should also mention that I have alreaqdy purchased 2GB of Cosar PC5300 (DDR2 of course) memory and I think that it will fit the 5215US well.
-
um isnt that an older out of date model? i think theyve messed up and made a mistake, could be a birthday fools joke thingy!
-
Ya, you got to watch HP. They're tricky.
-
what would you do?
-
it could be a "mistake" but then again HP is like that. if they mess up they will most likely replace it. but usually they would tell you first.
oh and yes you can upgrade later. and Newegg has an HDD
Western Digital Scorpio WD2500BEVS 250GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache Serial ATA150 Notebook Hard Drive -
if it's not a dual-core then cancel it. it's not worth waiting.
to be honest, i never buy laptops online. I'd prefer to go to the store, look at the laptop, then buy it (of course, before, I do some research on the models) -
You need to make sure that they are not sending you the DV5000 as a replacement. Since 1 it is an older outdate computer, 2) it will be refurbish.
-
First, research the exact model and features you want as a replacement. Then contact HP support. Have the details of your issues fixed in your mind and then let them know in summery where they have failed, and that they are currently shipping you a replacement laptop that does not meet your needs without speaking to you ... Get the email address and send them a copy of exactly what you want. They will then cancel the 5000 series and should have no problems sending you the proper replacement.

HP screwed up. Is it good or bad?
