Can anyone post a link as to where I can check the status of the service plan I bought with the HP? I have the receipt, I sent in the card, but I can't find any place to check it online. TIA...

Thanks. I was able to enter my part & serial numbers and the site displayed the base 1-year warranty that comes with the system. But I have been charged 3 times for a 3-year warranty/service agreement/care pack with accidental damage coverage.

Anyone know what the difference is between warranty, service agreement, and care pack?

I found a place where I could enter a case and I created one as follows.

WHEN I GET IT ALL SORTED OUT, I WILL POST A HELPFUL FAQ FOR ANYONE ELSE IN SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES. Thanks for the link.

    Problem description:

I bought the HDX 18t in early March. I paid for a high-end 3-year service agree
ment or carepack or extra warranty - whatever you want to call it - but I never
    got any information at all.

I filled in and faxed in the service card. I never got any information from HP
    at all.

I mailed in the service card. I never got any information or confirmation from
    HP at all.

I tried to use the service site, but I got totally lost. Apparently a user is expected to keep track of 4 separate HP logins - shopping account, forum account, registration account, and now this service account. I'm lost.

Problem #1 is, where is my service information that I paid for?

Problem #2 is that I think HP has charged me 2 or 3 times over for the service t
hat has not been delivered even 1 time. I was charged online when I bought the computer, and I have seen additional charges from HP on one or two more credit card statements.

My understanding is that I have a 3 year warranty (or whatever HP wants to call it) that includes onsite or exchange service and accidental damage protection.

I would very much appreciate it if you sort this all out.

Please help track this all down.

HP CarePacks, if activated, will show up on the warranty check as it is linked to your machine's serial number. If you do not see it, you must contact HP's Care Pack division and provide a proof of purchase to have this rectified asap.

For the record, the ITRC service does not work on HP's consumer products, including the HDX laptops. As such, any warranty lookup through ITRC would be inaccurate.

It's always a pain for me to break down and make a phone call :) - but sometimes it's the only way...

    Thanks for the info.

I don't know what carepack is but when I bought my hdx16, I got an additional year of warranty. They sent the warranty info and asked me to register the warranty asap or it would be void. It gave the option to registered by snail mail, or online. I registered it online. Maybe yours is not registered yet?

Thanks for the link. It accepted my serial # and product # but reported that it found nothing attached to them.

That's a big clue right there that this 3-year extended whatever has not been properly registered by HP.

I've sent support an email message, but I guess I should find a number to call them at.

Even tho you've sent it in via snail mail, why don't you try registering the warranty online?
