    HP sound issues! plz help

    Ok i have had this laptop for a few years and never had this issue. my icon for sound shows that the volume can go up or down or be muted however the buttons on the laptop to control sound r not working. if i press the unmute button it will show on the icon that it has been unmuted but no sound is working. not sure if that makes sense but basically it will show my sound is woking but will not work and the mute button stays orange as if muted.
