Damnit! I really wanted another DV6000T with a Matte screen.

The option is no longer available now.

Anyone know anything about this or have talked to HP if they're bringing it back anytime soon?

I believe that most manufacturers just aren't making matte screens any more, and may be a supplier issue, as the Compal HEL80 is also in the same boat, no longer offering the higher-resolution matte screen.

I am not expert but I you positive the Dv6000t came in Matte?
I ordered one in Jan and looked everywhere for a matte and could not find one. It was never offered through Hp as far as I know. But I could be wrong.

I ordered a dv6000t on Saturday and by mistake chose matte. Estimated build date is the 21 of April and was told I couldn't just replace the matte with brightview nor could I cancel becuase it's already in production.

Doesn't make sense if they are out of matte and its delaying my build why can't I replace it with brightview. Going to call them again for the fourth time this afternoon

that's strange, because just yesterday, my friend canceled his order one day before shipment because he realized that he wanted to add something on his custom dv6000t. So customer service told him that they would cancel his order and re-order it with a new shipping date.

Shouldn't be a problem with canceling and ordering again.

Well that sucks. I have called four times now to try and change the screen with no luck. I was told they would put in a request to cancel and I should get an email within 40 business hours (7 days!) with their decision.

I spoke with a supervisor today and tried to get them to move along with order and just forget about the cancel but she said once a request is filed you can't undo it. So now I'm stuck with either a matte screen 2 weeks late or a brightview many weeks late.

Maybe it has something to do with using HP financing. Seems like it wouldn't be much trouble either way to change screens - especially with a ship date so far away.

""sucky...they wouldn't let you change it once the order went through? I would be pissed!""

Come on, I mean if you take time and customize your new laptop and they'll build it just for you with your own customization, how lame can you be to ask for cancelation cause you ordered matte screen by mistake and you wanted brightview in first place. So childish and irresponsible.
I totaly understand Hp on this. People changing their minds from minute to minute...

We in central europe have no options, you can choose one model of nc8430, one model of nx9420,... and so on.. One or two models from each series. The built quality is superb and support is also very good, cause they know exactly what they produce and sell.

No, I called them hours after I placed the order. It hasn't been built yet, in fact, the matte screen is holding the order. It's not childish or irresponsible to change your mind. I mean its not like they are giving people notebooks. We buy them - the way we want them.

I'm sorry you aren't given choices where you live - they are nice to have.
