Now if only HP would update the ATI Xpress 200M drivers for dv5000 series. The driver they have posted is from Feb. and the package contains drivers dated from December of 2005.

When I first got my dv5000 my wireless light never worked but I updated/reinstalled the driver for the wireless and now the light works.

After the initial install of the factory driver package, you can use the Catalyst video drivers on the ATI site. This is what I use for my 200M.

You sure about that? Because I tried it once and the performance seemed lower. I also recently ran ATI's stupid little system tester to see if their drivers were compatible and it said no.

Always read the release notes before thinking about installing an ATI driver. You should see "Radeon Xpress 200" listed in it. If not, pass on it.

As for the slowdown, always pick the dial-up version that only includes the driver. The full package will include Catalyst Control Center, which has been known to impact performance on some machines.

    Hi All,
Had the same problem with the Catalyst Control Center. Dot Net is a must for CCC to work. Personally I have the best results using the Omega Drivers.
3DMark03 showed a little gain with the Omega loaded. 3.8.231 is the version number I ran.
