    HP take as long to ship as estimated at time of order?

    I just ordered a new notebook last night. They estimated the build date would be the 4th of next month.

    How accurate is their estimate? I'm without a computer until the new one gets here.

    it just depends. the ones i have bought came a couple days early. but i've heard of certain models coming in very late due to supply shortages. if i had to guess i'd say your notebook will probably ship a day or 2 early

    Mine was scheduled to arrive on the 25th. It is on its way to me today. Thats 5 days ahead of schedule. Hope that helps.

    Mine was at my door ten days after ordering. In your case I would expect it to be in your hands on either the fourth or fifth. (My build date had been the 17th, it was at my house the 18th)

    It seems that whatever the "Build date" is for the notebook, is usually the day it will arrive. My build date was 1/19, and I received on 1/19.

    HP delayed a bunch of DV4s, mayber other models, earlier this month. I ordered the 3rd. Original ship date was the 12th. Got delayed a week. Finally shipped the 19th. It is in Alaska right now. Probably won't get it till monday or tuesday. Hopefully you don't have the same problem. You do get a $50 coupon for the delay but I think I woulda rather had my comp.
    Ordered the 3rd. Probably will arrive the 23rd or 24th. Ouch. 3 weeks. :(
    Good luck to you though. Like the others said, if you are lucky, it'll arrive on the estimated shipping date.

    My HDX18 arrived today. I was unsure if I would keep it or send it back...this thing is awesome. Its never leaving me!!!!
