This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Please don't speculate like this. This is completely unrelated to HP's PSG division. The 24000 lay offs are part of its integration with EDS. Don't know if you know much about this, but EDS is not a PC company. It's a data services firm. EDS Australia is affected, don't think HP AU will be.

    The quality of the laptops does not depend on the size of HP's workforce. Production is now fully outsourced to contract manufacturers whose workers are not HP employees.
