I was looking to buy an HP Envy until I tried one at Best Buy, the trackpad is horrible. The main problem is that the whole trackpad is being used to detect movement, including the left and right click buttons. This is a problem because I always keep my thumb on the click so that I can click quickly when needed, but on the HP it senses my finger there and moves the cursor around. Is there anyway you can disable the bottom part of the trackpad from being used for movement? I dont wanna have to hold my thumb up all the time. If not, what improvements exactly do new drivers provide? I heard google has some drivers for this also?

There is an option to disable movement on the dedicated buttons area.
It's in the Synaptics Control Panel.
