Hi there, I just received this fantastic tablet pc that came with Vista. I downgraded but am still having some issues (drivers etc.). Does anyone have any experience with this one? Please share!!!

    Turion X2 TL-68 (2.4ghz- probs w/this?)
    Wacom Touchscreen
    2gb RAM
    GeForce 6150
    Fingerprint Reader, Webcam, Mic
    Broadcom a/b/g/n
    Lightscribe
    250gb SATA Hd

    Issues:

    a. in System Properties, under Computer, it shows I have the Turion 64 X2 Mobile, TL-68, but then on the third line it says: 789MHz, 1.93GB of RAM, not 2.4GHz. !?!?!?! It seems to run way faster than a 789 for sure

    b. Touchpad (used Synaptics from dv9000z) won't install (it works, so do i need the driver?)

    c. HP Buttons (DVD, Screen Rotate, etc. all of them) won't work. What driver do I use for this??? Really need that functionality! I installed the Quicklaunch Update from the Xp tx2000z CTO driver page, but it clearly states its an update, doesn't say its the whole kaboodle.

    d. Device Manager problems (Other Devices)

    Coprocessor
    Other PCI Bridge Device
    SM Bus Controller
    Unknown Device

    e. I get this message when I boot up:

    Tablet Driver
There is a problem with your tablet driver. Please reboot your system. If the problem persists reinstall or update the driver.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled (using the Wacom PenTablet 503-3 driver from their site) and it still comes up. But... my pen works, the calibration tool and the software works, and its good and ready for use in Photoshop CS3.

    Afterthoughts:

    - am i supposed to install the chipset first? i didn't; i installed the dv9000z nForce chipset somewhere in the middle (and somewhere later i saw my MHz is reading only 789)

Thank you thank you in advance
    Jeff

Its just Powernow which dynamically alters the clock speed based on the cpu usage. There is no use to run the cpu at 2.4GHz always if you are doing general tasks, so it will run at 800MHz. All new mobiles cpus have similar features(except for the Celeron M). install the AMD cpu drivers from amd.com and if you face any problems with some programs then try installing the dual core optimizer.

Maybe it's an Alps touhpad. If you dont install the drivers most likely wont get the scrolling features. but the touchpad should still work in basic mode.

If you stil have the factory Vista installed, it should be available in the C:\SWsetup folder. I sure do hope you made the recovery discs before removing Vista.
Get the Nvidia chipset from the nvidia.com. That should take care of the coprocessor and the SM bus device. The unknown might be Quicklaunch and the other might be the media card reader.

    Shouldnt be an issue.
