Hi all, I just bought a tx2500 Tablet from Best Buy. 250 hdd, 3 gigs ram. Just wondering if anyone has had any problems with one of these. I went 10 pages into the HP Laptop Forum, but didn't find any discussions. Hopefully that is a good sign. Thanx

Here's the sister site to this forum that full of tx2500 info.

    http://www.tabletpcreview.com/

When I first received mine I was all worried about the temps that were reported. I've since done things to keep the temps down. But I've come to adore the TX2500. I haven't had a single problem with it. Well, let's say, I haven't had a single problem that didn't have a simple fix.

I love mine, only issue I have is lacking the ability to do a clean install. But then again that is far outweighed by the rest of the laptop.

Have any of you had problems with it freezing up a lot or getting a blue memory dump screen? Mine has started this doing this alot. I took it to Best Buy for the Geeks to look at, and they did not find anything it could be, but just like your car, as soon as I got it home from the shop, it did it again.
At first I thought it was connected to trying to play You Tube Videos and getting on MySpace, but not always. Help!!

Burn and boot MemTest86+ and let it run for at least an hour or until it flags errors. If it does find errors, one or both of your SODIMMs is probably bad.

Also make sure that your cooling fan works.

Mine is doing fine since I got it. One minor issue was the jittery audio and DVD playback. The DVD works better on HP Quickplay and Media Center rather than Media Player. After all the updates the jittery audio went away.

I had tx2500 but i return it for a dv5t instead. The problem I had with mines was that the fan would come on as soon as i turn it on and it got a bit annoying. the heat was also quite unbearable at times too even though I've been using it only for about 30 minute just surfing the web and do anyone notice that the charger gets really hot too. Don't ask me why i did this but I placed a glass of water on top of the charger and it actually got quite warm. possibly it was just mines being defected but can you say "fire hazard?"

well i'm glad i made the switch over to the dv5t. I'm much happier with the performance and overall rating of it. Although there's no heat sink to the dv5t i rather deal with it since i got the N9800GT graphics card and a wooping 2.4GHz for processing power. :p

Well I think I cursed myself by asking questions here. This thing loves the blue screen, happens all of the time. Have talked to HP Tech Support, and they had me wipe it out to factory and start over. Still happens, surfing....then bam! blue screen, or it won't shut down and I have to force a shut down by holding the power switch on. Or it freezes alot.

    Can you help??

    Thanx

If doing a fresh install does not fix the issues then send it in to HP. Mine had an issue the day after the last return period. So I called HP and they were VERY fast with my laptop. From the initial phone call to having a fixed laptop at my door was less then a week, and I didnt have any issues with tech support or with my tablet when it came back.

    Thanx Liquidxit2,

That was my next plan of action. The call goes in today and in the mail by tomorrow. This is totally crazy. I still have my Dell XPS, so I still have a computer.

    Thanx again

Hey, there's quite a few reports of audio stutters, on mine disableing the A band of the wifi card solved it... there's some wierd driver conflict, and so far eveybody's fixed it by simply disabling the A band, but there's a lot more info over at tabletpcreview.com's board. Once i changed that one setting, haven't had any issues since.

HI, I tried to connect the S-video output jack of TX2500 to the TV, but nothing shows up. Is there anything I need to activate first? Thanks.

Try pressing FN+4 (or whatever number the switch screen is)
