Does anybody know if this would of had a 32bit or 64bit version of vista?
-
New in box ==> 32bit Vista
-
What do you mean?
Just because its new in box doesn't mean its 32bit. -
It should be 32bit. Hp would have mentioned the 64bit-ness of the OS along with the OS version if it was the 64bit version...

32 bit for sure, since it has windows home premium and its new in the box. hp doesnt load 64 bit windows home premium from the factory, only 64 bit os they load is vista ultimate edition.

Actually, they started to sell 64bit Vista HP as well a few months ago. I just got mine last month with stock 64bit Home Premium.

So it sounds to me that even though it comes with 32 bit that I can upgrade to vista ultimate 64 bit.
Correct?
If so I'll do that.
Thanks for all the advice thus far. -
Yeah, as long as you have license for vista Ultimate you can easily reformat & reinstall/dual boot. You cannot upgrade from 32bit to 64bit however. Before upgrading keep a copy of the SWsetup folder since it contains a copy of the drivers & software(for the fingerprint reader, quickplay etc) which you may want to use after the upgrade.
