    Hi, all:
I just recived my DV2000 today, had to drive to FEdex local store to pick it since I didn't pick up their phone quickly enough as the guy was in front of my door. they should just give their deliver customer a few more minutes after they knocked the door, people are sleeping.
anyway, let me talked about the DV 2000, it is in a shiping box without any more cover box or (HP package box), can anyone confirm that? the notebook is placed between two foamed plastic, that's it, no more any other box or package. and it just not looks very fresh new to me, don't know why, there is some small sratchs and mote or few dusty layer along side of the keyboard. it's hard to describe to you people, but just not what I expected, if you buy from a store, and they would have a completely package for you and you will find a very new and never touched noteook if front of you, but I guess if you roder online with your customizing, the assembly workers have to do something to your notebook individually? also the HP installed a lot of software, I guess it must needs some one to do the job, correct?
any one has the same experience. please tell me about it, is that just I being too picky here. thanks

When you buy at the store it comes in in a box as well. I agree the amount of bloatware was horrific. My V3000 looked good out of the box. It is very good as a budget notebook.

Yeah, they all ship in the same box whether you buy from the store or diretly from HP. The only difference might be that if you order online from a retailer then they might include their own box. But the standard HP shipping box is just as you described. As for the scratches, I dont think it is very common. My laptop was totally clean when I received it and again it does not matter whether the laptop is purchased in store or online, the laptop is built in the same factory and assembled by probably the same people.

Hi, resume from yesterday, i called back the HP, the super visor told me they would not be ablt to exchange one for me even the one I have right now is not in a good condition, they can only let me return it, moreover, if I want to get the same one again, I have to pay for the difference since the price changed. I asked him why the computer is not packed in an original HP box but some of the brown shipping box, he said he assumed should come inside a HP box, he just didn't know why mine was not. what about you guys, does your customized computer come in with a HP package or non known.

Thats the way HP ships their laptops, there is no fancy box. I just got my dv2000t yesterday, it came in a brown box with a packing list stuck by the side and there were shipping labels and the barcode stuck to another side. On the inside, the laptop had a plastic covering and was located between 2 foam pieces. By the side there was another brown box containing the battery, power cord, phone cord and a HP folder(or box) containing the User manual, and other brochures.

If you buy it in a store you will get the same sort of setup but with a HP logo and the specifcations of the computer stuck by the side. he insides will definately be the same.

I have bought 3 custom built HP's in the past and all shipped with the same box. All 3 laptops were in perfect condition and no damage.
