I've been digging for a successful solution to bypassing Power Now/Cool n' Quiet/throttle and running my hp zv5405us AMD 64 3200+ at full processor speed (1.99 GHz) 100% of the time. I've tried several things but all seem to revert to using the throttle feature on the CPU and keeping my CPU at 797 MHz.

Worked but reverted back on bootup.

This also worked but it also reverted back on bootup.

Any solutions that work even if you reboot??? I want full processor speed 100% of the time.

Have you tried to set the Power scheme to "Always On". This should set the cpu to work at 2.0GHz.

    Hmm....
I don't think so. Like Intel's SpeedStep Technology, it may be embedded into the CPU itself. But then again, it may just be software....
