just a few quick questions about seting up my laptop when it arrives:

    1) how long should i charge the battery to condition it first time???

    2) if i re-install xp, as what i have read on this site suggests are all the drivers included in back-up cd??? i.e. for the track pad, short cut buttons, memory card reader, graphics card, in-built wifi card etc etc... and

    3) does hp partition there laptops???

    thanx for your help...

ps: any other advice you may have will be helpful too...

1)Charge the battery overnight or for about 7-8 hrs.

2)Yes, the recovery cd contains all the drivers. Some of them you can also download(latest versions are online)

3)No, not that I know of.

Other than that check for bad pixels and test to see if the laptop performs as expected.

Whats the best way to test for dead pixels? Is there a program? Also, which benchmarking programs are the best and free?
