    Hi,

I'm in between the HP zx5000 or the Compaq R3000Z. They both have a similar configuration except the zx5000 has a P4 2.8GHz and the 64MB ATI 9600, and the R3000Z has the Athlon 64 3200+ and the 64MB GeForce 4 440 Go. I don't really need this for gaming, just a notebook for my wife that can last her several years and that is as fast as possible within the budget. I can get either notebook for pretty much the same price. I'm leaning towards the R3000Z since it seems it would be much faster and it has the 64-bit processor, but at the same time I'm wondering how much of a difference it would really make and whether there would be enough software to take advantage of the Athlon 64. Which one would you pick? How much faster will the R3000Z be under day to day usage?

    Thanks!

The 64bit processor will definetly be a faster processor that hopefully in a few months will have more 64bit applications.

Thanks Quikster! I've ordered the R3000Z. Now comes the hardest part, to wait until it ships ;-)

By the way, it just got picked as Editor's Choice by PC Magazine: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1579098,00.asp
