I have an HP G60 that does a fine job of surfing the internet and just basic computing. The build quality is good. I would have preferred an Intel processor, but when I picked this up at Circuit City, it was just hitting the market and the $599 price was attractive. Just one complaint--it's too heavy to use on the lap or for just surfing. I've looked at most netbooks available and almost opted for an HP Mini or the Toshiba N205. But, then I saw the Gateway with its larger screen. So, no purchase yet. Now, enters Dell with the new Inspiron 11Z. That looks like what I want. Still, I like HP and want to know how HP will match the Inspiron 11Z? Any ideas?

Either the Mini 110 or the dv2.

The Mini 110 isn't comparable, though. It has an Atom processor and 10 inch screen. Won't HP come out with a new model to go head to head with Dell?
-
Yes, HP is to come out with a machine to rival the Acer Timeline 1410/1810 and Inspiron 11Z. It should come with an 11" screen and CULV processor.

Any rumors floating around about when it will hit the shelves? Guess Best Buy will carry it without a few features most people want, but BB won't offer. Guess I'll wait to see what comes from HP. Hope it will offer a 6-cell battery, 6-8 hrs run time, nice design without all of the swirling googlies on it. Just my preference. Some of the HP case designs make no sense to me. But, I'm pretty conservative in some things.

Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
HP's 11.6" is supposed to be revealed this month. It could be either Atom or CULV (more likely) and has been in the news since march. They need to hurry up, this month is almost over.
Also, new designed culv's should be coming soon: Link

There is a mobility press conference due where some new consumer notebooks should be announced.
