To anyone that bought the notebook a week or two ago, tough luck my friends, the HD DV6T has now been updated with the same HD Mobility 4xxx platform:

Both the HD 4530 and the HD 4650 are now available on this laptop as well. The difference being, however, that where the DV7T comes standard with the new HD 4530 card, this is an optional add-on worth $150 on the DV6T (bumping up the stock $680 price to $830 with the new card).

Thought I'd let you guys know :D Looking forward to the new 4xxx platform coming to the Dell Studio 15 series very soon.

    WOW!

do you know whether some mainstream (4600) or performance (4800) mobility platforms are gonna be available on business notebooks as well?

i have a 8510p with the hd2600 now, and am thinking about upgrading to a 8530p (have to stick with hp notebooks) with the 3650, but ive read lots of reviews saying the 4670 (i think a 4650 would be ok, too) and higher 4xxx cards outclass all other ati's (mobility) cards greatly ( http://blogs.amd.com/play/2009/02/25/the-biggest-graphics-question-of-2009/) so i'd only wanna upgrade to a 4600/4800.

would contacting hp and suggesting such an option (4600/4800 mobility cards available on certain [business] notebooks) be worth trying?

and in general, is a dv6t/dv7t better for gaming than a 8510p/8530p for instance? i wouldnt go for a hdx because its simply too big for me.

    thanks
