Hi, I've bought through ebay an envy 15 (1st gen), and the overheating issues began from first day. It shuts down frecuently, when playing most of them. Seller tells me to send it to HP, but I think they will have the PC for a long time, and they will return it in the same conditions. I have the posibility of send the pc back to the seller... What do you think about HP's assistant? Do you really think they could fix the overheating problem?? Please, reply as soon as possible because I have to take a decission fast. Thank you guys!

    Call 866-408-5408

We won't keep the unit for a 'long time'. Most of the time when a unit is sent into HP for service it will take roughly 1 week to get it back.

Why would we send it back unrepaired? as long as you call in and we document everything we can get it fixed properly.

Do what you want, if the unit is within the 1-year warranty we can service it without problems.

Did you buy it from a person or from a business?

PM me if you want to talk about this further

The envy 15 runs naturally hot (the one i saw at best buy had to be kept on a cooling pad), so there may not actually be a problem.

Otherwise, I agree with mr.rhtuner - HP's service is pretty fast and reliable, and if you can send it in to them (if you really want to keep the laptop)

Yeah, I know it runs hot, I dont mind that, but you have to understand that a pc that shuts down when an application requires the potential of it, it's a waste of money. I want to keep the pc, is very fast and the screen is impresionant...

Has other HP Envy 15 1st gen owners the same shutting down problem ??
