    From Engadget:

We've just received these images of HP's rumored UMPC. Honestly, we have no reason to doubt their authenticity. The HP Compaq 2133 "lifestyle accessory" features a big, scratch resistant 8.9-inch 1366 x 766 (WXGA) display, ExpressCard/54 slot, Wireless LAN, nearly full-sized QWERTY (95% of full), integrated webcam, and optional SSD in a 2.5-pound anodized aluminum *** pot running Vista or Linux. Or so say the tipped images. Funny how the once keyboard-less UMPC-class device has now morphed into an Eee PC-like mini. Still, if this is what we can expect from the UMPC crowd come Silverthorne then you can count us in, HP.

Looks nice but I myself am waiting for the HTC Shift. Funny how with all the UMPC hype they're nearly rare to get or even see one in real life! Sometimes me think it's a conspiracy!

Based on what we know about this future HP item, how does it compare to the Asus EEE?

I am in the market for a small device that I can carry with me for when I need to get online and web surf in a hurry. Dont want to have to lug my 17inch HP notebook all the time.... and my blackberry just doesnt cut it.

There are supposed to be new EEE's in April that will be fanless and may have a 45nm processor. Other competitors also coming soon are:

    Dell
    Acer
    MSI
    Gigabyte

They are supposed to be based on Intel's upcoming Shelton platform (debuting in April). The HP is better than the EEE in screen size keyboard size, but we don't know the price or if the rumored Via processor will be any good. And it might be a little bigger than the EEE.

Thank you. Hate to be a pain, but can you link to the info on some of those other products that are supposedly coming soon?

Looks kinda neat. anyone know what the starting price might be. if it's gonna compete with the EeePc then it's gonna have to be around the 300-400 marker. I might go for it, if it's pretty good.

I called HP customer service yesterday and she told me to call back in four to six weeks as that's when she says it will be available. She had no other information. :(

No info on the Dell has leaked. The 2nd Gen EEE is supposed to be out in April and feature an Inetl 45nm processor (Menlow, Shelton, or low end Penryn???) and be fanless and come in 7-9 inch screen sizes. Last year it was thought it might come with a dual core Merom processor.
