    Hi,

I am very close to buying an HP but wanted to ask for feedback on their warranty for the notebook systems. I know the system comes with the standard 1YR Limited Return to Depot warranty. But is it worth it to get the extended warranty with Damage Protection and Pick Up Service? Has anyone had experience with either service and can they tell me how it went? I don't want to buy something that won't be honored (Accidental Damage) so I would like to know about it before purchasing. Any and all feedback is appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Kanbi

I always get extended warrenty and accidental. Thank god I have never had to use it. But the one day that I drop soda or coffe and I know they will exchange it, I will be happy that I brought it.

    Better safe than sorry

I just ordered a dv6500t and selected the two-year warranty. This will be my first laptop, and from what I've read, it's not a bad idea to get an extended warranty. One rule of thumb I've heard is to up your laptop warranty as long as the cost isn't over 20% (or so) of your purchase price.

You might never need it, but it's nice to have. That's my view, any way.

    Good luck!

Over 3 years, 10 of 10 of my HP Laptops went back. The service is better than most, not as good as some, and beats all the 3rd party warranties that I have tried (hands down). Accidental Damage Protection works (had 2 or 3 claims). Also improves resale value. You can get a 4 year (with Accidental damage protection) plan from the HP Store.
