    HP's pricing is horrible lately.

    7 Months ago i bought:

    dv7t
    1080p screen option
    650m video card option
    1tb hard drive
    8gb ram

    For $1005 with coupon

Now to buy the same laptop even with the best available coupon the best you can get the same spec computer is $1155.
I called HP and they can't do anything about it. It's crazy they can look my account up and see i bought the same computer for $150 less from them 7 months ago.

In July, I bought this Envy 15 I am using right now. It cost around $1300 with the best discount available.

Looking at the best 15.6 inch laptop on HP's site right now, for cheaper and no discounts applied, it's $100 CHEAPER, I can get 2GB more RAM, 1GB more Video/Graphics memory, 250GB more HDD space, better processor, etc.

I feel screwed over haha :(. All this Envy 15 has over the current Envy lineup is aluminum finish that copies the style of the Macbook Pro....

The former Pavilions are no comparison to the ENVY 15 and 17.

^ what he said. the envy 15 have so much better cooling (2 fans and placement instead of 1), much better build qualiy (plastic vs aluminium), sleekness, better audio, better panel.

HP has decided to try to improve their profit margins and not compete so much on volume with lower prices. If you want to find better prices I'd say look for fixed configuration offerings from big box retailers such as Staples or Best Buy when they have big sales going on. For instance, yesterday I picked up this HP ENVY dv7t for a family member for $549.99 from Staples after a $100 off coupon and $50 rebate:

    HP ENVY dv7-7240us 17.3" Laptop | Staples®

It's back up above $800 now, but here's discussion on the deal on Slickdeals.net as proof it was there!

    HP ENVY dv7-7240us 17.3"Gen 3 Intel I5 cpu Laptop $649.99 + additional $100 coupon from email $549.99 - Slickdeals.net

There were other deals on HP laptops at Staples this weekend too. I don't think HP.com is the best place to find raging deals these days, but they are still best for easily finding the configuration you want and they do offer the 21-day return no questions asked policy with no restocking fee, which is kind of nice.
