About a $250 drop as compared the Turion X2 pricing last week. You now can have a TurionX2 for about $100 less than a DUO (compaq).

If only they had better graphics options... *sigh*
-
But the fastest X2 they offer is still much slower than most Duos, right?
-
However, the X2 will be able to run 64-bit applications. The "promise" from software vendors such as Microsoft is both 64-bit and Multithreading enablement (a la Vista64). For that, the X2 should shine, since 64-bit and/or multi-threaded apps should have substantial performance boost (remains to be seen however).
If you are looking for a 4-year notebook (to last until 2010), amd must buy one now; the TurionX2 should survive all the upgrades in the coming years (64-bit, multithreaded apps).
If you can wait, the upcoming Merom vs. future Turion X2 should give buyers great choices, as well as "future proof" the investment.
