HP Canada is now listing the dv2550se, dv6565ca, dv6568se, and an unknown configuration for the dv9500. Also, hpshopping.ca has the dv6565ca direct to buy.

HP lists Staples and Bust Buy as Retailer/Resellers for these models, and while Bust Buy is currently NOT stalking them, Staples has received the dv6565, and expect to receive the dv25/9500 models in their next order.

    Specs for the dv6565:
    Intel Core 2 Duo @ 1.66GHz
    2048MB DDR2
    160GB HDD @ 5400RPM
    NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS

    Specs for the dv6568:
same as above except for a 200GB HDD @ 4200RPM

    Specs for a DV2550:
    Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile @ 1.5GHz
    2048MB DDR2
    160GB HDD
    Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100

What's exciting is the Special Edition for the 25/6500 Models. Unfortunately, the dv2500 will have integrated graphics :( I would expect to see these new models in stores within the next few weeks!

I'm hoping that Best Buy will be getting the HP DV2500 series before school starts. I wonder how much it will cost in Canada...

As do I.. although I hope they get 2500 models with the GeForce 8400M. The SRP is $1,249.99 for the dv2550 on their website.

If the dv2500 is made available on the HP.ca website, could we customize it like in the US?

Unfortunately, us Canadians do not have the option to customize.

I'm waiting to buy the DV6565. I hope Best Buy receives them soon. I went to Future Shop and Best Buy last night. The salesman at Future Shop told me the DV6568 SE is exclusive to Future Shop and then went on to say the DV6565 is exclusive to Best Buy. A short trip to Best Buy proved that the latter is untrue, at least for now, as Best Buy has not received the DV6565 yet. I hope Bureau En Gros is stocking the DV6565. It is listed on the website but sometimes, notebooks are available in Canada but not in Quebec. I'm living in Quebec. Also, I didn't know you can buy that notebook from HP Direct until I read tommy23's post. I checked it out and you can buy it at www.hpshopping.ca and not at www.hp.ca. I don't believe there is a link from www.hp.ca to www.hpshopping.ca.

So why do you not want to buy it at hpshopping?

I'd rather pick one up from the store and bring it home myself. It's not a HUGE deal but I'd prefer it that way.

Also, you will get a much better price in store than at www.hpshopping.ca. There are no coupons for Canadians at HP but notebooks go on sale all the time at retail stores.
