Why does the HP Envy now cost $1,049.99 from HP.com?
-
-
probably because they lost too much money with all the previous coupons and theyre trying to get some money back on their last few envy's because the refresh is coming in a month or 2
-
You would think they would keep the price the same or even lower the price so they could get rid of the older models before the refresh comes next month.
Would be nice if they bring back the radiance screens with the new refresh! -
1 the price didn't increase, they just no longer offer the i3 so the base price changed.
2 don't get your hopes up about the radiance panels, as the company producing them no longer exists
3 why would a computer company lose money for selling computers at a discount, especially their flagship computer, they wouldn't offer it at that reduced price if it didn't net them profit -
I know that's the rumor and reason for the radiance screens no longer being available, but your honestly going to tell me that they can't find another manufacturer? Very hard to believe! -
Look at the resolutions at all other similarly sized notebooks. They all have very similar, crappy, 720p-ish screens.
I dunno why this is. It is like Apple has a monopoly on good screens. -
i dont remember the envy ever having an i3..there was no option for it when i ordered 2 weeks ago..the base was i5 430m
-
-
Full HD in 15", doesn't think apple offers this in a 15" package... -
-
I want anything higher then a 1366x768 resolution screen! What is this, 1995?
-
Envy 17 has an optional 1080 display. Maybe it's marketing, but the deal for me is the brightness and color gamut that comes with it.
the arguments for 720p are theoretical: if you are more than 2 feet from a 15" diagonal 16x9 display, normal human beings can't resolve 1080p resolution anyway. But those "lesser" displays are concerning to me because, they are not as bright and do not support the full sRGB color gamut. -
The Radiance screens were beautiful and they took them away from us! Oh well, guess I'll just go get a Dell XPS.
