I have a HP2000 that was damage, screen is dead. Can I use the Hdmi on the laptop to external monitor? I tried but still no video.

Turn it on and then immediately close the lid. Then (if it works) it should output to monitor instead. Basically you would need external keyboard and mouse to use it well.
