As title says, my HP9235 is refusing to enter sleep mode when i close the lid. The LCD light turns off, but the computer will stay on until the battery dies. When I open the lid, the LCD turns on, but the only thing that shows is black. I can tell windows is still running because of things like mute still working, but nothing makes the screen show anything other than black.
It forces me to do a forced shutdown via holding the power button. Has anyone had similar problems? This just started recently a few days ago when i noticed my laptop battery had died while packed away in my laptop case.
This laptop is running vista home premium and has bios version F13 installed.
Also to add, I have checked the power saver settings and it is set to activate sleep move when lid is closed both with and without being attached to the power adaptor.

Upgrade your bios as the new ones are designed for Vista. did you try the advanced options in the power options? when u open the lid press Fn+F4, some ppl say that helps get the LCD running again.
