    Hi, all.
This is my first time to post there, just want to say hi to u all guys first. :)

I got a HP DV9207US several months ago.. I found that it was so dusty beside the fan and the metal pieces - the one beside the fan. I tried to open my laptop to dust it. After cleaning, everything is good and the operation temp is back to normal. However, I cannot use the microphone anymore. I tried unplug the cable and plug it again. It does not work also... I think it should be a phsyical problem not a software problem since the mic was working b4 I opened my laptop.. I supspect the cable under the hinge maybe broken or something... Does anybody know how to use an mutli-meter to check the plug or the cable? or any suggestion??

    Thanks.

Well if you need it working your gonna hafta send it in for repairs, or buy the cable and take it all apart to repair it yourself...

The problem is that I m not living in the U.S. anymore..
Seems the cable is soldiered at the mic side, I think I need to buy the whole set if I need to replace the cable.. Does anyone know how to use multimeter to check the cable connection??
