I ordered my R4000 on April 20th and its estimated ship date passed today with no word on it being shipped out or not. Anyone else going through this and does anyone have any answers about the delay?

    Dear Valued Customer,

Due to production delays, we will be unable to ship your order on the original estimated ship date. We will be shipping your order as soon as it is built or no later than 7 business days from the original estimated ship date. If you prefer not to wait you may cancel your order and receive a prompt refund by either replying to this email message with your order number or calling our toll-free customer service number at 866-288-1610 between 7:00 A.M. - 2:00 A.M. (ET) Monday through Friday or on Saturday between 10:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. (ET).

If we do not hear from you before we ship your order, we will assume you have agreed to this shipment delay and still want your custom PC order. We apologize for any inconvenience this delay may have caused and thank you for your patience. Following this email you will receive a hpshopping.com $50 coupon due to the delay of your order.

Since they charged you up front, I wonder how they would feel about paying for any interest or finance charges...

This is the second time I've ordered this very same laptop from HpShopping.com. The first time was in April with a build date of May 19th before I knew anything about the HP APP program. The second time(after a refund)was at the Begining of May with a build date of May the 16th.[?][?][?] To beat all, I paid for the 2 day shipping which should have put my laptop in my hands sometime yesterday.[ :(!] Nope.
However, HP was nice enough to send me an e-mail late YESTERDAY informing me of yet another "Delay".[xx(]

Anyone got an offical word as to why yet?

    Havok_rls2,

Nice config. (same as mine EXCEPT I got the 60gb hdd)...Supposedly all the delays were brought on by HP themselves, by incessantly offering NUMEROUS rebate deals through OfficeDepot, CompUSA, CC, Costco, etc. for the past 5-6weeks!!...This has quickly resulted in a processor shortage for most of the Athlon64 Desktop Replacement chips that HP uses, especially the case for the Sledge/Claw-Hammer 4000+.

With that being said, however, everyday that passes I learn of numerous people who receive their orders in near record time...It's honestly beginning to make zero sense whatsoever!! (There is no correlation b/w order dates nor processor)

BTW, I'm hoping you got the 2day upgrade refunded by HP & a $50 certificate...if not, you should.

Well, it shipped out yesterday and the tracking information was updated this morning. Right now it's in Almaty, Kazahkstan. Wierd, the last time I ordered something from HP, it crossed the Pacific.

Hmmmm...interesting, you probably wouldn't have been able to use your new $50 coupon up until about 2 days ago, when the instantsavings were taken away...But now all the prices are cheaper. With the sudent disc. it would be super cheap for u!!...It's upto u, but I'd go for it.

In fact, I'm in the same position, I have a 10% off coupon that I can now use towards it, which makes it $60cheaper. I plan on reordering & not sending this one back until I receive the new one [ ;)] (take full advantage of their policy)

However, you MIGHT be able to get them to just do an adjustment w/out reordering...I'm gonna see about doing that since they do have a Price guarantee for 30days from delivery...

You guys are making me nervous. I have an Estimated Ship Date of 5/24. By the sounds of some previous posters my ship date could be further out. If that is the case I am canceling and maybe going for a Dell. It seems that AMD always has trouble meeting demand on the CPU's. If they could figure out how to produce chips in large enough quantities they actually might be able to put up a decent fight against Intel. I seem to read about AMD supply issues all the the time. Pathetic!

    Thanks,
    Snyperx

My HP shipping experience so far:

    - 2 weeks ago: Spoke to HP sales to calm my fears that my 4/21 order of a zv6000 due to ship on 5/19 wouldn't be beaten by a new order placed that day even though it stated a build date of 5/13 (even though my 4/21 order replaced my 4/13 order that had a build date of 5/26). I was told that there was no way a new order would beat my 4/21 order, and since the build times had improved, that mine would likely ship sooner than 5/19. I told them that it would be nice to give an online build step-by-step tracking like Dell does/used to (as of my last PC purchase two years ago).

    - Yesterday (5/19): FINALLY got a tracking number, although it met their estimated (planned?) build/ship date. However, I still haven't received any kind of shipping confirmation e-mail.

    - Today: Shipment is progressing nicely from Kunshan China, to Shanghai, to the Phillipines, and the estimated delivery date is 5/25, just in time for my vacation.

Sounds like I was lucky to get mine shipped.

    Update:

Since Fri, 5/20, my order went from the Phillipines, to Anchorage, to Memphis, to Dallas, and it is now sitting on my desk. Four days from China to Texas. Not bad for free shipping.

i was told by hpshopping that i should recieve my zv6065 today, this is because they were expecting a shipment to arrive friday and it would have been delivered next working day to me...

but as no laptop arrived i phoned hp directly and was told that there is a delay with a part for the computer (i am guessing the processor) and that they know have an e.t.a. for the 31st... man i just want my laptop to arrive...

Ordered off HPShopping.com with a total of $250.00 in rebates. Original ship date was supposed to be May 19. After talking to HP they sent a $50.00 coupon plus the ZV6000 shipped that day! I'm sure there is no correlation between threatening to cancel and the item shipping. The ZV will be a world traveler before it arrives in the US. Below is my tracking info. Notice it sat in Paris for about 48 hours. Guess all the Fed Ex folks were on holiday.

    Typing this from my zv6000!!!

No dead pixels from what I've noticed so far, and fan noise is minimal (to me).

Looks like I am canceling my order. Just received an e-mail stating it has been delayed until the 31st. Yes they gave me a $50 coupon, but it's the fact of the matter that HP can not freaking gauge supply and demand of components correctly for their products.

    Thanks,
    Snyperx

I have the HP backpack...Its pretty nice, has spots on the sides for MP3 player as well as a little eyelit type thing so your headphones have something to come out of...The bag itself looks pretty solid and has a nice elastic strap with velcro to keep your laptop secure in the padded area. Also has spots for other devices in velcro pouches.. Has a whole other compartment that can be used to store anything you wish...Hope this helps.

PS: i got the backpack, USB notebook mouse, and lock all for $99.99 which i recieved yesterday, but my laptop's estimated ship date is 6/1 (cant wait)...

They sent me the $50 coupon and said it would ship on the 31st. I checked the order on HPshopping and still has not shipped (It is now a week past the original estimated ship date). This will be the last time I order from HP. They need to fire the manager in charge of component ordering for the laptops.[ :(!][ :(!][ :(!]

I belive they also state that it will ship either on the new ship date or 10 days afterward.
I wonder how the other hp with the pentium chips are doing for ship dates compared to the amd ver.
