Just tried to order my zt3000, my first laptop ever, from HPShopping.com...what a nightmare...
Ok, that's exaggerating a bit, but I placed the order today around 2:30 PM and checked the status about an hour later to find "Payment not Authorized" as the status of my purchase. I called HP and they said that they were working on it and that they would call me back sometime tonight. Well, at 8:30 I couldn't deal anymore...I called them myself and told them that I wanted this figured out. They told me that the bank rejected my purchase and that the bank was being unresponsive to them. Naturally I called the bank and they said that the order seemed to be going through as planned... ok, back on with HP...they tell me that they are looking into it again and magically they come back and say that they have released my money. So much for the bank. Anyway, I'm a little hot right now so don't take me seriously. They told me that once the money is back in my account (I was using a Visa Check card), I can try the purchase again...Tomorrow is another day...
Basically, after all that, I want to know if anyone else has had trouble with HPShopping.com in a similar manor. I would also like to know if you have had any type of problem as well. Thanks.

I actually just purchased a Zx5000 2 days ago thorugh hpshopping and so far everything is fine and dandy. Granted, I didnt and have no experience with check cards so that could be a completely different ballpark.

Well, like I had originally said, I was probably overreacting...I was...anyway, I got my money back at 10:30 and placed the order again online using the same logon and info as before and they are processing it right now. I already got a confirmation and everything. We'll see how long it takes before I am completely happy with their service. Thanks for the input though.

Tomorrow brought luck...I got my money back and replaced the order...it is currently confirmed and being processed! -
Thats good to hear, that its working now. I had trouble with the zt3000, and ended up going with the zx5000 after thinking about it anyway. Perhaps its just a problem with that machine that they finally got fixed.

Maybe, I almost got the zx5000, but when weighing portability vs. power, portability came out on top. I tried the zt3000 at Best Buy and I really like the machine. Either way, It should be here in a few weeks.

Personally I don't see how the zt3000 is really all that more portable. Thus I went with the zx5000. 1.5 pounds really is not enough wait to make something more portable unless your backpacking or something. When your average book and other things weigh more than that 1.5lb difference there isn't too much of a gain.

Oh well, I suppose. Everyone has their own tastes. If I'm not mistaken, the zt3000 is .5" thinner and 1.5lbs. lighter. Plus, the power adaptor seems much smaller. I also would rather have the new Centrino due to heat and other issues. I'm not too concerned about graphics and I find the computer to be very comfortable. After about 6 months of searching/saving, I think I'll be very happy with the zt3000. Even thought the zx5000 did cross my mind, there is not a lot of really definate information on it either. The zt3000 is highly acclaimed and I feel that I have made the proper choice for me. But thank you for your input anyway.

I agree it with you about being slightly smaller and lighter, but I disagree about heat. I have never had a heat issue. I have run games full power on this and every other application I have on here, and it never gets hot, and I can always put it directly on my lap with no problems or discomfort.

Well, working solely based on assumtions, you are probably correct. Either way, I'm sure that we will each be happy with our machines.
