Just got my dv5t, and before it's even finished loading the desktop for Vista I get an error: HPTCS has stopped working.

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

    Two options: Debug, Close program.

What the heck is going on? What to do?

It's a program that was installed from HP. I believe it is the HP CUE status. It shouldn't affect your use of the notebook, so I would just ignore it by closing the program.

If it continues to pop up, open up the programs list and uninstall/reinstall it. Sometimes programs simply get corrupted when being installed and cause an error.

Failing that, you could at least remove it from your startup applications so you don't have to look at it :)

It shouldn't be erroring like that right out of the box but... I don't think it's anything particularly major - not worth the hassle of bothering HP support, I would wager.

    ... that rhymed. HAH.
