I am wondering what is wrong with this laptop. I recently purchased it used and i am having issues with the video quality. When the charger is plugged into the AC outlet, the video quality and speed is great. But then, when it is portable and not connected to any power source but it's battery, the video quality will lag a few seconds, and it will never catch up throughout the entire mpeg. Can anyone tell me why this is so? Thanks!

Changing to battery mode will cause the CPU do drop in performance to save on battery power. It normally should be enough to play DVD's or even MPEG's, but if the bitrate of the MPEG's are exceptionally high, that could be a problem. You may want to goto the Power Management options in Control Panel when in Battery mode and chnage the setting to Always On. This will force the CPU to run at full speed, but this will reduce battery runtime significantly.

Has this been a concern for anyone else? I don't want to feel as though i bought a cheap product because i know HP is very reliable. It has the same speed as my desktop athlon 2500 512 ram but it seems as though it runs slower. Also, are batteries expensive? Should i look into buying a new one? Thanks in advance.
