    Hey ya'll
I have been banging my head against my dell 5100 for about two weeks now, researching every detail I can find about three 17" laptops- the ZD8000, the X6000, and the Dell 9200 (xga).
My main question for you guys is are you happy with your X6000's? I just wonder why in the hell it's $200 less (in my config.- 3.2 ghz, 1GB ram, sxga screen, 7200 rpm drive, 256 mb X600,) than the ZD8000- cheaper wiring, casing, speakers, what? I know the larger internals are the same, and with it I can aford the extra battery and 1GB ram that I can't with the ZD, but will it hold up as well?
Love the battery life of the 9200, but with their best deal as of today, it's still $1856 spec'd with the 2.0 ghz, a 128 mb 9700 (their only option), a 7200 rpm, 80whr batt, and only 512 ram. That's much more than the fully loaded X6000 at $1698, even with the extra battery and double ram, better screen, more vid. memory, etc...
Any opinions would be great. I know this is an HP forum. It's only going to be off my desk about 10% of the time, but will need to run Premiere Pro and After effects, video rendering stuff, and games.
Thanks to all. Let me know how your X6000's are doing, and if there's a reason to go with the ZD8000 instead. Appreciate it.
