Hi everyone
I have an HP Pavilion dv6137tx notebook--specs: Core 2 Duo T5500 (1.66Ghz), 667 Mhz 1GB DDR2 SDRAM, 120GB HDD, nVidia GeForce Go 7400 GPU, 15.4" widescreen, Windows XP Media Center edition preloaded.
I am thinking of getting a hard disk/memory upgrade. According to HP, this notebook cannot house a hard drive with a capacity greater than 120GB because the form factor doesn't permit so. They also tell me that laptops with 17" screens being larger can house hard drives of larger volumes. But, I see that even some dv2000t series laptops are shipping with 160GB drives (the dv2000t model I'm referring to has a 14.1" screen).
Also, what about the memory? Is the upper limit 2 GB? Is this information true? If I want to get a hard drive/memory upgrade, how should I go it, if HP doesn't offer the upgrades?

Physically any 2.5" sata hd will fit.. there's a 250gb model that came out recently... so if they're saying it won't physically fit then their info's outdated.

Okay, so if HP is refusing to give me a 250GB 2.5" drive, then from what other source(s) can I procure it?

As for as the RAM, it should be upgradable to 4GB. 2GB is the max which HP offers with their notebooks. So you will have to again source the memory from a retailer.
