My dv6000 will only run for about 2 minutes before it shuts down. I believe this to be because of overheating. The fan does not seem to be running at all. I have tried using a can of air to blow out the dust (which I've had to do before) but there is no change in what's going on. My girlfriend has an old dv6000 that she no longer uses. I know that my model is slightly different than hers, but I'll have to check the exact specs after I get home from work. If I take out my HD and RAM (I think I have more RAM than her) and put it in her computer, would it essentially be just like my computer? Are there any other specs that I should check out before I do this?

If its the same model number Dv6000-xxxx then its simply plug and play. If not the ram might differ but the hdd should swap over just fine.
