I just received an HP dv5t and I'm having a strange problem. The CD/DVD tray is really hard to get open... I have to press the button very hard, to the point the laptop is sliding to the left and the tray is moving inward. In fact, it really doesn't feel like a "button"... there's no detectable "give" to it. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

I know what you mean, but it is by design. I just press my fingernail into the button.

More force required on button to get to open, and more force required to close tray on dv5z compared to my dv6870.

I find it hard to open the CD/DVD tray also.

I use an "Eject" program which is very small and keep a shortcut to it in the Task Tray. Once you use it you will never go back and push the button.

There are many "Eject" programs if you google for them, I use one you can find here: http://www.brothersoft.com/eject-download-6300.html

    It works with XP/Vista also.
