I'm thinking of buying a 2gb DIMM to up my ram to 3. Has anyone done this, and if so, did you notice a difference, or should i just spend my money on something else?

The new BIOS update actually fixed the BSOD when inserting more than 2GB of RAM, which hinted the possibility for increasing the capacity of the RAM slot for dv6000t.
Personally, I have not seen anyone done it (3GB or 4GB)...
For most applications and games, 2GB of RAM is already plenty, having 3GB or 4GB of RAM is utterly useless or unnecessary unless you are using memory intense applications (like Maya, 3DSMAX, Photoshop, etc)

I have 3GB of ram on my dv6000t and it works fine. mine used to be at around 60% ram usage on my 1gig ram, but now that i installed 3gigs it's at25-30%

how much ram do you have right now? if you have 1gig, make sure it's 1 stick of 1gig ram and not 2x512mb, otherwise if you buy a 2gig stick of ram you're only gonna go 2.5gb and not 3gb. and with the prices on the RAM Deals thread, i'd still go buy the 2gb ram.
