Hi guys, well I keep flip flopping between this notebook and the ASUS S96J/Z96J but the one thing that holds me back from buying the HP is the price. So my question is has anyone tried to purchase it with a student discount? Thanks in advance.

I tried to so that same route, but couldn't get a configuration that I wanted.

Here you'll see two preconfigured models for the nc8430. They do not list the nc8430 as a customizable notebook in the student store. However, I'm almost 100% certain they do NOT charge tax...so even if the list price is the same you'll be getting a better deal.

I just hope that one of the two configurations matches what you want. If not you might be able to upgrade the hard drive and RAM.

Link doesn't work for me. So you can purchase it with the student discount? How much of a discount can students get?

diffent link that should work...I think the first one didn't because of cookie crap.

anyway, click on the orange square on the left that says something about buying business products designed to get the job done. that'll take you to the right area. you'll have to look through the site to get to the nc8430.

i think the best discount it will give you is no tax, but don't quote me on that.

sorry about the first broken link
