2 days ago i saw them in person. They are quite stylish and rediculously under powered... I liked the look of the v3000 ALOT! some people did not like the dv2000, i thought it was alright but nothing close the the v3000. Unfortunately, retial is a bit behind hpshopping.com so i won't get to try one of the X2's out until the one i bought from HP EPP comes....

What exactly do you mean by "ridiculously underpowered?"

Ah, I see. I'm waiting for the dedicated graphics options as well! But honestly, since I don't game much, I don't see why I am.

Not everyone is necessarily into playing games on thier laptop, and not having dedicated graphics gives your laptop much better battery life (I believe)

I get over seven hours of battery life with my dv1000t, and it's blazingly fast when using it for business apps, browsing the internet, Photoshop, etc.

I don't think I'd want dedicated graphics if it would seriously reduce battery life, but that's just me.

However, calling this computer "rediculeously underpowered" is a very misleading statement...

to be honest shel, 80% of regular posters in this forum want more performance than you utilize in your machine. I was speaking to those individuals. To say it was misleading is simply dumb. It is a nice computer, but in comparison to many of the laptops that members own, its is underpowered and the fact that they only offer base model processors is more than disapointing. Underpowered is used as a relative term. I mean, i plan to get one of these, i am simply making a comparison. Im sorry if i hurt your delicate feelings about a laptop you do not own.

I actually ordered dv2000t. I am just curious is dv2000t not as good as v3000t lookswise. Please don't make me regret my order
Also I don't get it why is v3000 cheaper than dv2000, they both have the same styling, options etc.

    Hey...guevara

I don't think the design of DV2000 is worse than that of V3000. The design of dv2000 is a lot better than v3000.

Anyway, when is your estimated date to get lappy? Would you please post anything about dv2000 when you get that?

Thanks for the reassurance. I sure will post, expect to have it on 10th June. I ordered mine from Costco last Friday and today found out that they are offering $50 instant rebate plus $50 mail in. So will call them tomorrow to get the price adjustment. After that $50 instant rebate is applied total will come to $1481 incl. taxes.
    Quick note about config:
    2Ghz, 1GB, 80GB, DVD-R/W and Bluetooth

Compaq is generally cheaper than HP, I think it's just their marketing strategy.

actually, it all depends how you configure. With the same configuration, the v3000 was more expenive for me and it doesn't come with a webcam...
