Been awhile, notebookreview community. But I return with a question, so I hope that Envy 15 users haven't completely disappeared yet, with the revealing of all these new and shiny notebooks. I decided (unintentionally; I accidentally deleted my windows partition in gparted because I didn't pay attention to which I marked for deletion) to turn my envy into a linux machine for the summer, while I don't need it for academic work. I've been successful in installing three major distros (ubuntu, xubuntu, and mint - yes, I know they're pretty much the same thing re-skinned). They all run fairly well, with only a few compatibility issues. The problem I am having, though, is when I try to install the drivers for the hybrid graphics (intel 4000/hd7750). I've been following this guide to the 't' for 13.04, but each time I make it to the end and do the final reboot, it breaks everything. I am only presented with the terminal login and prompt no matter how I boot in. The xserver is unable to start. Endless errors. Any success stories or advice to offer?

Haven't read anyone doing it.
Have a look at this blog one of our posters made concerning a Linux distro on an Envy 14: Andreas Demmer » Review: Running Linux on the HP Envy 14
It may give you some pointers with regards to the graphics issue.

Lots of brilliant minds that can help get you sorted out even though none may own that specific model.
Has anyone successfully installed a linux distro on the Envy 15t-3200?
